HoVA is actively working in Wajir County to promote and protect the rights of women, girls, and vulnerable groups. Our recent initiatives have focused on raising awareness about human rights, gender equality, and legal protections through community dialogues, workshops, and radio campaigns in both urban and rural areas.
We have partnered with local leaders, youth groups, and religious institutions to challenge harmful practices such as Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), early marriage, and gender-based violence. HoVA’s team has also trained paralegals and community champions to provide grassroots support and guide victims in accessing justice and essential services.
In collaboration with local authorities, we organized a Human Rights Week featuring public forums, legal aid clinics, and school visits to educate young people on their rights and responsibilities. Our advocacy has already led to stronger community action plans aimed at preventing rights violations and protecting vulnerable members of society.
Through these efforts, HoVA is fostering a culture of respect, dignity, and equality in Wajir, ensuring that every voice is heard and every person’s rights are upheld.
