At HoVA, we continue to strengthen food security and promote eco-friendly farming in Kenya’s ASAL communities. Recently, we launched a Climate-Smart Farming Training Program, reaching over 200 local farmers with practical skills in soil conservation, water harvesting, and organic farming techniques.
We also distributed drought-resistant seeds and farm tools to smallholder farmers, helping them increase their yields despite challenging climate conditions. In partnership with local cooperatives, we set up community demonstration farms to showcase best practices in sustainable agriculture and encourage knowledge sharing.
In our drive to support women in agriculture, we facilitated a Women in Agribusiness Forum, bringing together women farmers to network, share experiences, and access micro-financing opportunities. Additionally, HoVA is piloting a sustainable irrigation project using solar-powered pumps to improve water access for farming in remote areas.
These efforts are already making a visible impact, improving food security, boosting household incomes, and fostering resilience to climate change.
